Project: Designed by the architect Agostino Vitoli (who was active from 1781 to 1802)

Present Use: It was handed over by the Society of Nobles to the Municipality in 1861. After a detailed renovation in 1861, it was opened to the public in 1990

Teatro Municipale - Il palcoscenico

The Interior: Shaped in the form of a horse-shoe the auditorium has stalls as well as four levels of boxes and galleries. Angelo Moja (Milan 1806-1880) painted the ceiling above the stalls made of stucco and trellis work depicting the Muses. The caryatids in stucco, which support the draperies of the royal box, were modeled by Abbondio Sangiorgio (Milan 1798-1879) on the design by Pelagio Pelagi (Bologna 1775 – Turin 1860): the decorations in the boxes are made of stucco and are the work of Leone Buzzi (who lived and worked in Casale in 1839)
