Period: It was built by Giacomo Zanetti (who worked in Casale from 1717 to 1732) and consecrated in 1726

Present Use: It is the property of the Collegio Convitto Municipale Trevisio of Casale

Project: Designed by Giovanni Battista Scapitta (Moncalvo 1653 – Casale Monferrato 1715)

Façade: The Church, which gives on to Piazza Castello, is considered to be one of the masterpieces of the Baroque style in Casale, it calls attention for its majestic dome and ornate Baroque façade, in two orders, designed in a markedly eighteenth century style

The Interior: The Church is built on a Greek-cross plan. At its high altar there is an imposing sculptural group in polychrome marble depicting the Virgin Mary of the Assumption, a work by Giovanni Battista Bernero as well as an elaborate and finely carved wooden choir stall in a room at the back. Valuable frescoes painted by Giovanni Carlo Aliberti decorate the whole Church, while the dome is richly decorated on the inside
